Several members of our guild have taken time to make Quilts of Valor to be awarded to service men and women and veterans. These quilts are our way of saying “Thank You” to our veterans, who give so much to keep us and our country safe.
For more information on Quilts of Valor, please visit the Quilts of Valor Foundation webpage . If you are interested in joining North Olympic Peninsula Quilts of Valor, please contact group leader Kathey Bates at 360-316-9798. We meet twice a month on the second and the fourth Friday of the month at Creative Union Quilt Shop, 112 Kala Square, Port Townsend, WA 98368. You do not need to be a member of Cabin Fever Quilters to participate. Basic requirements for Quilts of Valor are at the button below. While the minimum size for a Quilt of Valor is 55″ x 65″, QOVF recommends they be a bit bigger at 60″ x 80″. Do not make smaller than 55″ x 65″ or larger than 72″ x 90″. While QOVs do not have to be red, white and blue, these are the most popular. Fabrics may be “patriotic” or not, but should be suitable for adults.
To request a Quilt of Valor for a friend or relative, please visit the Quilts of Valor Foundation website at www.qovf.org. Contact information for you, the requester, is essential, as it the address and contact information of the veteran. As the requester, you will be our primary contact to arrange award of a Quilt of Valor.
